History
The partnership between the Bavarian municipality of Vaterstetten and the Ethiopian city of Alem Katema began several decades ago. It was established to promote cultural exchange and deepen mutual respect and understanding. Many development projects, particularly in the areas of education, health, and infrastructure, are the result of this fruitful collaboration. The partnership has continuously evolved since its inception and has been strengthened by numerous personal encounters and visits between the two communities.
Board
The association "Partnership with Alem Katema" was founded to coordinate long-term cooperation between Vaterstetten and Alem Katema. It organizes activities, events, and fundraising campaigns to support the partnership. The committee consists of dedicated members who meet regularly to discuss current projects and develop new initiatives. The members work closely together to ensure that all projects meet the needs of the people in Alem Katema.
Vaterstetten
Vaterstetten is a picturesque town south of Munich, known for its high quality of life and cosmopolitan outlook. The town plays a central role in the partnership with Alem Katema, strengthening the relationship between the two cities through numerous projects, fundraising campaigns, and regular visits. Vaterstetten has provided significant support to Alem Katema, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare, and is also very active in cultural exchange.
