Behind the partnership with Alem Katema is a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionately committed to fostering exchange and cooperation with our Ethiopian sister city. I first visited Alem Katema in 2004. During that trip, I fell in love with Alem Katema and its friendly people. That's why I'm committed to the "Partnership with Alem Katema." I'm delighted that I was elected Chairman for the seventh time in January 2023. We can only make a small contribution to improving the lives of the people in our partner city, but we want to seize this opportunity.

Through my previous involvement with Ofenmacher e.V., I came to care deeply for Alem Katema and to appreciate the impact of the partnership association, which has always been very supportive of me as well. In addition to the association’s existing important—and therefore essential—initiatives in the areas of social welfare, education, and health, I see a growing challenge in creating opportunities and a future for young people.
